If you are planning to go to the island of Oahu soon or sometime in the future, then there are many places to explore. If you are looking for great local food, try the restaurant Side Street Inn. On Kapahulu street, only a few minutes from Waikiki, this place can satisfy your taste buds. From garlic chicken to pork chops, you can try a variety of dishes together with locals. Be careful, however, the portion sizes are far too big for just one person!
Hawaii offers many different hiking trials to try out as well. Probably the most famous one on the island is Diamond Head. It’s very convenient to get there, if you are staying in Waikiki. However, it can get pretty crowded with visitors and there is also an entrance fee. If you are able travel to Waimanalo, which is on the east side of the island, then I recommend Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail. It’s free to do, and I say, much more comfortable because the road you walk on is paved. Just try to get there early, because like any place in Hawaii, parking is limited.
