There are many words to use in English to express feelings of anger, pain, or disappointment. ‘swear words’, also known as ‘curse words’ ‘cuss words’ or ‘bad words’ are short words that are often good at relieving tension. Unfortunately, they are also inappropriate to say in many situations. Because of this, many softer versions of swear words exist, which are better to use in polite situations, such as ‘shoot!’.
Many English swear words are frowned upon because they are considered blasphemy. To blaspheme means to use the name of a religious figure inappropriately. Instead of `Jesus`, many people will instead say “Jeez” or “Gee” instead of God, many people will say “Gosh” instead of Hell people may say “heck”
