Spring has sprung! When winter finishes and the warmer weather starts we say “spring has sprung”, meaning spring has started.What is your favourite thing about spring? For me,it is the beautiful cherry blossoms that bloom along my street. Especially coming from Australia where the country is mostly eucalyptus forest or rainforest,the cherry blossoms are always an impressive sight.
Another thing I like about spring is the sakura flavoured snacks and drinks we can find in shops. Whether it be sakura flavoured chocolate, donuts, Pocky or a sakura flavoured frappacino there are new things to try during spring,even sakura flavored beer!
I guess spring time is not for everybody though because it also marks the start of hayfever season,when the air fills with pollen and lots of people start sneezing.When I was a boy I lived next to a nature reserve full of grasses that made my eyes itchy. It was terrible! So I sympathise with anyone who must endure hayfever.
I aｍ looking forward to the warm sunshine and clear blue skies spring brings though, As much as I enjoy the Japanese winter, especially when it snows, spring gives me a feeling of rejuvenation, like I am waking up from a deep sleep. It’s time to get outside, go somewhere and enjoy the local parks and beautiful Japanese natural scenery!
