Excession by Iain M. Banks
I’ve always loved the idea of space travel so, naturally, I love scifi. My favourite book of all time is called Excession, by Iain M. Banks, a British author.
It’s the story of an advanced civilization where artificial intelligence is more advanced than humanity.
Suddenly, even more advanced technology appears and everyone races to learn about it.
Most of the story is told from the AI’s point of view.
It’s both funny and exciting, crazy and thought provoking.

“A Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula K. Le Guinn
Reading for fun is one of the best ways to study a foreign language.
One of my favorite stories, and One you may be familiar with, is “A Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula K. Le Guinn.
This story was also made into a movie for Japanese theaters called ゲド戦記 by Goro Miyazaki, son of the famous director Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli.
It is an exciting tale, full of adventure, wizardry, and dragons.
If you have enjoyed such stories as “Harry Potter”, I would definitely give Earthsea a try.
