本日は、イギリス出身のJonathan先生から
雨にまつわることわざを紹介してもらいました！
The Rainy Season
It’s that time of year in Japan when it rains a lot. “It’s raining again.” is an expression you’ll hear a lot.
In the U.K. it rains quite a lot in every season, so we are used to saying this phrase!
`Raining cats and dogs` is a very well-known idiom. It means, raining very heavily, of course. The origin of the expression is unclear, but it could refer to Viking mythology. The cats and dogs were the pets of the gods and the noise they made was a symbol of rain, wind, thunder and lightning.
