今日はJayson先生がカナダの代表的料理の
「プティーン」について教えてくれました😋🎵
“A Spoonful of Canada”
On cloudy days or days when I’m stuck inside I like to cook comfort food from home🍳
Canada’s signature dish is “poutine”
It’s a dish made of simple ingrediants: potatoes🥔, stock, and cheese🧀.
This dish is great for cold Canadian winters and I think it could bring some warmth and light into any cloudy day⛄🌞
Ingrediants
Fries🍟
キ 1 frozen bag of fries or 4 white potatoes
Gravy
キ 3 tablspoons cornstarch
キ 2 tablespoons water
キ 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
キ 1/4 cup of all purpose flour
キ 20oz beef broth
キ 10oz chicken broth
キ black pepper
Toppings
キ 1 1/2 cups of white cheddar cheese curds or torn chunks of mozzarella cheese.
Optional Toppings
キ 3 tablespoons of maple syrup🍯
キ 5 strips of bacon🥓
Instructions
Gravy
1. Dissolve cornstarch into water
2. Melt butter in pan, add flour and stir until brown
3. Add both broths, add in cornstarch and whisk. Add pepper.
Deep Fried Potatoes🥔
4. Cut your potatoes and soak them in cold water for 1 hour
5. Deep fry potatoes
OR
6. Use oven to cook frozen fries
How to Prepare Poutine
7. Add fried potatoes into bowl. Season with salt.
8. Add 2 ladles of gravy on top of fries.
9. Add cheese curds or tear mozzarella and add on top of fries. Add pepper to taste.
Optional
For that extra “Canadian” feeling add 3 tablespoons of maple syrup🍯 on top of your gravy. This will give it that truly authentic feel and taste. It’s also possible to cook bacon🥓, crumble it, and sprinkle it on top for a salty taste.
