今回は皆さんが英語学習で苦労されているものの中のでも一つ『単語の覚え方』についてCraigにてコツを聞きました❣
Many students say that building vocabulary is a challenge. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin. Memorising lists of words from a textbook sometimes isn’t effective, because there isn’t any context to remember them. Here’s one alternative that will help you learn and remember new vocabulary.
皆さん、単語を覚えるにはどこから始めたらいいか分からない方が多いですね。教科書から単語のリストを記憶することは、あまり効果的ではない場合があります。単語を覚える文脈があまりないためです。今回のとっても覚えやすいコツをお教えしましょう！
Step 1: Find a comfortable place where there are lots of things around you. This could be at a cafe, in a park or even your own living room.
ステップ1：快適に勉強できる場所を見つけます。これは、カフェ、公園、またはあなた自身の居間でも可能です。
Step 2: Look around and silently name the items you can see. Many of them will be easy at first. In the living room example above, for example, you’ll find “sofa”, “coffee table”, “TV remote” etc. This is a “warm-up” to get your brain working in English. After a while, you’ll get stuck. This is the good part: find out what these items are in English and write them down. Your living room list could be like this:
ステップ2：周りを見て、見えるアイテムに名前を付けます。最初は簡単ですよ。たとえば、上のリビングルームの例では、「ソファ」、「コーヒーテーブル」、「テレビのリモコン」などがあります。これは、英語で脳を機能させるための「ウォーミングアップ」です。ですがしばらくすると、行き詰まります。これは良い事です！これらのアイテムが英語で何であるかを見つけて、それらを書き留めてください。リビングルームのリストは次のようになります！
armrest
double adaptor
extension cord
foot stool
hinge
magazine rack
mantelpiece
power socket
skirting board
sofa throw
Step 3: Make a sentence with each new word. This will create a personal context forevery new word. It’s a simple action, but I guarantee you won’t quickly forget.
ステップ３：新しい単語ごとに文章を作ります。これにより、新しい単語が永久に個人的なコンテクストになります！これは単純な作業ですが、すぐに忘れないことを保証しますよ！
“The living room door has a silver hinge.”
“There are three power sockets in my living room”.
“The living room wall is white and the shirting board is brown.”
「リビングルームのドアには銀色のヒンジがあります。」
「私のリビングルームには3つの電源ソケットがあります」。
「リビングルームの壁は白で、シャツボードは茶色です。」
Step 4: Revisit your sentences after a few weeks. Do you remember all of the words? Of course you do! 🙂
ステップ4：数週間後に文章を見直します。すべての単語を覚えていますか？もちろん覚えてますよ！
