皆さん、イギリスの『Guy Fawkes Night（ガイ・フォークスナイト）』はご存知ですか👂✨
聞きなれない言葉ですが、こちらは毎年11月5日に子供たちが花火🎆を鳴らし、
かがり火をたくイギリスの風習なんです！（今年はもう終わってしまいました🙏💦）
今回はイギリス出身のAmelia先生が、この興味深い風習について教えてくれました！✐📚°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖✧°˖°˖✧°
✨🌃Guy Fawkes Night🌃✨
In Japan fireworks are associated with summer,
but in the UK we have a 🎇special fireworks festival🎇 on November 5th.
This festival is called “Guy Fawkes Night” or “Bonfire Night”.
Guy Fawkes was a member of the Gunpowder Plot,
a group of people who on November 5th 1605 attempted to blow up the House of Parliment building with the King inside.

The plot was discovered and he was caught gaurading the gunpowder which was going to be used.
As the plot was foiled, people celebrated the Kings survival with bonfires (large but controlled outdoor fires).
This soon became an annual event and a holiday in the UK.
These days, along with the bonfires, people also set off fireworks in their own gardens and big cities host fireworks displays.
Children enjoy making effigies of Guy Fawkes (a doll of him made of straw),
asking for “a penny for the guy” (to raise some money) and later burning the effigy on the bonfires.

ガイフォークスと呼ばれる人形を作って焼いたり、花火を打ち上げたりとなかなかな風習ですね💡花火もとっても綺麗でこの写真は本物？！と先生に聞いちゃいました😳
