Vancouver, Canada is my home, but it’s also the home of various cultures. I think Vancouver is home to one of the biggest Chinese immigrant populations in the world. Before I was born, my family lived out their life in Hong Kong. Seeing the opportunity to start a new life, my family decided to move to Vancouver!
Growing up, my classmates were of many different ethnic origins. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Mexican, and so on. My 5th grade teacher loved celebrating our ethnic cultures. She brought Mochi after the New Years, Chinese sweets on Chinese New Year and also Indian snacks. Of course we celebrated events like Christmas and Easter. My favorite holiday was Canada Day! Canada Day, held on July 1st every year, is the national founding day of the country. In my town, we have a huge salmon festival where they cook tons of salmon! You should try it!

そういえば私もフィリピン留学に行った時、バレンタインデーに
男の先生や男子学生からお花やチョコレート、ぬいぐるみを
たくさんもらった記憶が・・・
街中ピンクや赤のペアルックを着ている人たちでお祭りモードでした👕
世界共通のイベントでも祝い方はそれぞれ！
