My name is Calvin, I have been with NOVA since November of last year. I am half English and half Japanese, but I was born in England and spent most of my life in Europe. Most of my life was spent in Belgium where I studied at a local British school until I graduated in 2017.My interests include football (Chelsea FC), music (both listening to and Dj’ing) and reading a variety of manga. I always enjoy a good time and have a blast with the many friends I have met since moving to Tokyo.
I have been back and forth between countries throughout my life, starting at my birthplace of Derbyshire in England to Belgium, then to Japan for a couple of years in Primary school (Elementary) and then back to Belgium until the end of my Secondary school life (High school). I studied at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, England where I had the opportunity to study for a year abroad in Tokyo at Meiji University. It was there that I was fascinated with life in Tokyo and began to think how I could live there in the future.
Once graduating University I went to Nagoya, Japan where my family had moved 2 years prior. There I spent some time celebrating graduating university and started to wonder what I could do for a job that would allow me to live in Tokyo. I learned that my father had once been an English teacher when he first came to Japan many years ago. So I figured that given my experience helping and teaching people English, I would be a good fit for this line of work. Then a few months later I got ready and moved here to Tokyo where I am currently enjoying life in the city.
