アイルランド出身のRyan先生にも国特有の休暇について聞いてみました♪
Saint Patrick`s day (or St. Patrick`s day); a holiday with roots from Ireland which is celebrated in several countries around the world, mainly in the USA. Also known as the Feast of Saint Patrick, it is celebrated on March 17th every year, and is held to commemorate the life of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, on the day of his death.
The day itself was originally created as a celebration for the coming of Christianity in Ireland in the early 17th century, which by extension is used to honour heritage and culture of the Irish. The celebration involves parades, wearing green attire, and sometimes Célithe (pronounced [KAY-LEE]), a traditional Celtic gathering of dance.
