Awajishima is famous for onions. Their onions are sweet and delicious, and they serve all their food with local onions. It’s also known as the largest island in Setouchi (the Inland Sea of Japan). You can visit some of the beaches with breathtaking ocean views.
We visited Awajishima end of 2022 and went to a park in the central part of the island. It’s a nature-themed park with flowers and animals. It was a beautiful day. Many families came to enjoy the scenery. They have a koala house as well, and we’re able to see them eat during their feeding time.
Winter was coming, and it was time to harvest some vegetables. The park offered some activities for each season. We had the chance to harvest sunny lettuce for just 100yen!
After all the walking we got hungry and decided to eat their famous Awaji island burger(onion burger), they’re so delicious!!!
It was a great experience, and we hope to visit Awajishima again.
