今回は、ハロウィン間近ということで、フィリピン出身のCarla(カーラ)より、ハロウィンについてのメッセージを作成してもらいました🤗
フィリピンでは日本とは違う過ごし方をするみたいです、、、🧙♂️🤔
Hello, everyone!
Spooky season has officially begun.
There are some people who like celebrating Halloween
by wearing either scary or cute costumes.
Do you like dressing up for a party?
Halloween in the Philippines is celebrated differently and couldlastfor days.Halloween in other countries is usually celebrated with costume parties and some kids trick-or-treating from house-to-house.
Well, Filipinos nowadays do that as well, but there’s this tradition that we should never miss.
That is visiting our deceased loved ones in the cemetery and offering them their favorite food.
In the Philippines, November 1st and 2nd are considered national holidays.
As a predominantly Catholic country, families gather around the grave to pray for the soul of their loved ones.
The older people will always reminisce about the moments they had with the deceased family member while having a meal. Kids on the other hand would always want to hear horror stories and be scared the whole night.
Some families who can go and visit would even set up camp and spend a day or two in the cemetery.
Some who cannot would just pay their respect by lighting a candle at home.
Either way, this age-old practice makes us make time for our family whether physically or spiritually.
How do you celebrate Halloween?
日本でいう、「お盆」の過ごし方と似ていますね🧐
