本日は、アメリカの電車とバスについてBrendan先生に教えて頂きました😳
あまり普段気にしない内容ではございますが、
皆さんも違いについて一緒に考えてみましょう😲💛↓
Trains and Buses in the US
In the US, there are much fewer trains than there are in Japan. They are mostly found only in large city areas. Outside of these areas, it is very rare to so see a train, or public transportation of any kind!
Near my hometown, close to Washington D.C., there is the DC Metro. This train covers Washington D.C. and the area around it. It is very similar to the Tokyo Metro. It goes above ground and below ground, just like the Tokyo Metro. I used this train to go to the Japan Embassy to get my visa so I could come to Japan.
There are also buses in the US, but, just like trains, they are also mostly found in the big cities. Some buses come to the small towns to take people to the closest big city. Near my house in my hometown, there was a bus that took people to Baltimore, the biggest city in the state of Maryland in the US.
There are options for private buses, though. People buy tickets to take buses long distances using the American highway system. A few companies are Greyhound and Megabus. Personally, I once use Megabus to go from Washington D.C. to New York City and back. It was a double-decker bus, so it had an upper level. It was kind of interesting to sit up above the traffic on the highway.
