本日は、千里中央校の先生たちのクリスマスの過ごし方・思い出についてご紹介致します🎅🌟
🎄Martin先生 クリスマスツリーの思い出🎄
When I was a child, for several years we would have a ‘real’ Christmas tree in our house.
My father would usually decorate it with the same decorations every year as is traditional in most families.
One of my fondest memories of Christmas is the tree🌲
…it’s distinct smell…the sound of the needles falling off of it…stepping barefoot on the needles in the morning…the lush green colour.
An artificial tree may look nice, but it lacks the magic of a real tree!

My wife is Japanese and we have three kids.
We celebrate an American style Christmas in which we buy lots of gifts for everyone, and by the time Christmas morning comes and “Santa” has visited overnight, we have dozens of gifts under the tree.🎁 We then spend an hour or more around the tree opening gifts one at a time so everyone can take a look at what was received before we move onto the next gift. It’s quite enjoyable to feel anticipation for so long.

On Christmas Eve, my mother would bake. Simple sugar cookies were transformed into the shapes of snowmen, wreaths, Santa and candy canes.🍪Small jars of sprinkles appeared to decorate them – red and green crystal sugar, tiny silver balls, chocolate and sometimes cinnamon.
Then, on Christmas morning, my brothers and I would be the first to wake and rush to find our stockings, full to bursting, hanging by the stair. We were allowed to open them as soon as we had woken, but the tempting array of presents under the tree had to wait until the whole family was up and everyone had had their breakfast.
