英会話スクール・英会話教室Sachinの関西旅行の思い出①

こんにちは、英会話NOVA川崎校です。

本日は2月から川崎校に仲間入りしてくれた講師、Sachinが先月行った関西旅行の思い出を書いてくれましたので紹介いたします。

先月にイギリスのロンドンからお友達が遊びに来ていて、一緒に京都と大阪に旅行に行ったそうで、両方良かったけどどちらかと言えば大阪の方が好きかなと言っていました。レッスンでぜひ詳細を聞いてみてくださいね！

とってもたくさん書いてくれたので、数回に分けてご紹介してまいります。

I recently went on a short trip to Osaka and Kyoto with two of my friends who were visiting from London. We began by taking the overnight bus to Osaka from Tokyo so that we could save money and also arrive early as we only had one day to explore the city. I was able to get plenty of sleep on the nine hour bus journey, however my friends were not so lucky and by the time we arrived in Osaka they were exhausted. Given that it was 7am and knew we wouldn’t be able to check into our accommodation until 3pm, we decided to leave our bags in a train station locker before having some breakfast and some much needed coffee! Following this we made our way to Osaka Castle. We wanted to get their as early as possible but even though we arrived just after it opened it was still very busy. Fortunately the weather was amazing and we were able to get a stunning view of the castle as we approached. Seeing the sun reflected in the beautifully clear moat was just what we needed to fight off our exhaustion! It was fascinating to learn about the history of the castle. Above all, I enjoyed learning about the siege of Osaka. The museum had lots of art showing the siege and it was extremely interesting to learn about the different military leaders.

When I told people that I would be going to Osaka everyone told me that I had to try takoyaki and okonomyaki. So, on the way to our accommodation we stopped at a small restaurant eat some takoyaki. It was really tasty and we ate until we were full. For the evening I had booked an okonomyaki restaurant that I wanted to try before exploring Dotonbori. The food was amazing and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. My favourite part of Osaka was visiting Dotonbori at night and seeing the lights on the canal as we walked along it. The city was so vibrant and full of life, it felt like I was in a movie!
