セントパトリックス・デイとは、聖パトリックの祝日で
アイルランドにキリスト教を広めた聖人、聖パトリックの命日の3/17に祝われます
この日は皆が緑のものを身に付け、有名なシカゴ川が緑になり、
緑に染まったラガービールを飲む習慣があります！！
街中、至る所が緑になるので別名、緑の日とも呼ばれています

St Patrick’s Dayとは！？

St Patrick’s Day is a holiday celebrated in Europe and America that honors Irish heritage. St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, and is attributed to spreading Christianity in the country. The story of St Patrick tells that he drove the snakes out of Ireland when he brought Christianity.
It is a metaphor, as many pagans and druids used representations and images of snakes in their worship and daily life. For this holiday, many people have parties and there are several parades. Each city has their own way of celebrating. For example, Chicago, Illinois has a tradition of coloring the river green for St Patrick’s weekend. Also, many people drink beer that is colored green. Boston Massachusetts has a large Irish population, and also has one of the largest St Patrick’s Day celebrations in America.
