The Tour Guide of Shibuya Scramble
Even for people who live in Tokyo (like myself) Shibuya Scramble is just seen as a tourist spot. Of course us Tokyo commuters often need to use it to transfer trains, but there are plenty of bridges and tunnels to dodge the chaos that is the Scramble Crossing. I often (about once every two weeks) get stopped by lost tourists when I’m around Shibuya, probably because I’m usually dressed in a shirt and tie and look like I work/live here (and I guess I look like I speak English too). A lot of times people are just looking for the Yamanote line so I can often just bring them there myself as I take the YT to get to the Keihin Tohoku line anyway. While I try to be helpful if I can, honestly sometimes I do try to dodge tourists in the early morning or when I’m in a rush. But, as long as I have time to spare (and am in a good enough mood lol) I try to be an emergency tour guide when I can.
