Nigelはなんと身長198cm!!

🎤Hello! Nigel,Thanks for letting me interview you!First, please tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Nigel Thompson and I’m from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My hometown is famous for a large rodeo held during the summer, I also live very close to the Canadian rocky mountains. My hobbies are reading books and being outdoors, I especially love hiking, camping, and snowboarding. Spending time with friends is also a passion of mine, I’ve enjoyed meeting all kinds of new people since coming to Japan.
🎤What has been your favorite experience in Japan so far?

It’s all been great, but if I had to choose one experience it would be traveling to Kyoto and Osaka. Or maybe visiting Tokyo, that was also a lot of fun. Actually, going snowboarding last winter was great despite the warm weather and lack of snow. No, scratch that, my favorite experience was surfing in Izu. And of course meeting Students in Nova has been a blast.
🎤What have been your biggest culture shocks after coming to Japan?

How clean everything is, I’ve been here a year and I’ve still never seen a single piece of trash. Also, people are very friendly and respectful. both of these were pleasant surprises and made it easy to transition to life in Japan
🎤What is the thing you like the most about Japan?
（日本について一番好きなことは？）
The nature, Canada doesn’t have nearly the same kind of diversity in regards to trees and flowers as Japan. There are a lot of gardens in Japan, and I think I come across a new plant species everyday. The food and people are great too but the Nature in Japan is awesome.
🎤What do you want to do while you are here in Japan?
（日本にいる間にやってみたいことは何ですか？）
I want to experience everything Japan can offer. meeting people, eating food, viewing the sights, and participating in traditional Japanese practices are some of the things I hope to do while I’m here. I plan to travel from Hokkaido to Okinawa, with many stops in between to experience local culture and smell the flowers and stuff.
🎤What are some recommended tourist spots in Canada?

If you like large cities then I recommend places like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. If you like Nature go to the Mountains in the west of Canada, there’s a wealth of beauty there. Further east from the mountains the Nature is still lovely but the landscape is much flatter, and there are many lakes and rivers. If you want to see the northern lights, go north to the territories in winter but be prepared, it can get very cold.
I’d like to visit the Canada one day(≧▽≦)
